1. Data Fiduciary Identification & Scope

Voltazip ("Voltazip", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use the Voltazip mobile application and related services (the "Service") available at https://voltazip.com.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), processing of personal data is carried out by Suresh Rao (operating as sole proprietor trading as Voltazip) acting as the "Data Fiduciary".

By using Voltazip, you ("Data Principal") give free, specific, informed, unconditional, and unambiguous consent to the collection and processing of your personal data described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information strictly required for EV aggregation:

• Account information: email address, password (stored securely), name, phone number (optional), and profile photo (optional).
• Location information: your device location when you search for nearby charging stations, plan a trip, or use navigation. We do not track your location continuously in the background.
• Vehicle information: vehicle type, model, battery capacity, range, and connector type, which you provide to use the Range Calculator and Trip Planner.
• Usage data: searches performed, stations viewed, saved stations, navigation sessions, trip plans, and other in-app activity.
• Device information: device model, operating system, app version, language, timezone, country code, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for push notifications.
• Payment information: when you subscribe to a paid plan or process payments, transactions are processed securely through Razorpay. All payment settlements operate under Suresh Rao in compliance with RBI guidelines and PCI-DSS standards. We do not store your card, bank, or UPI PIN details on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Service
• Find charging stations near you
• Plan trips and calculate vehicle range
• Manage your account, subscription, and quota limits
• Process payments and maintain transaction records
• Send push notifications (e.g. station approvals, subscription reminders, quota alerts)
• Respond to your support requests
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues
• Comply with applicable laws and regulations

4. Legal Basis for Processing (DPDP Act)

We process your personal information based on:

• Your explicit consent as a Data Principal under the DPDP Act 2023
• Performance of a contract (providing the Service you signed up for)
• Legitimate uses (fraud prevention, network security, service maintenance)
• Legal obligations under Indian tax, cybersecurity, and regulatory laws

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers: Supabase (database and authentication), Google Cloud & Mapbox (station mapping and routing), Razorpay (payment processing), Firebase (analytics and push notifications), and Sentry (error monitoring).
• Legal authorities: when required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
• Business transfers: in the event of a restructuring, merger, or asset transfer, your information may be transferred with equivalent protections.

All third-party providers are contractually bound to protect your information and use it only for the specified operational purposes.

6. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.

You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Menu → Delete Account). When you request deletion:

• Your account is immediately signed out on all devices and marked as scheduled for deletion.
• Your account enters a 90-day recovery window. During this period, you can cancel the deletion by signing in again and choosing "Cancel Deletion".
• After 90 days, your account and associated personal data are permanently deleted, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.

7. Payments, Billing & Refunds

Paid plans (Pro and Fleet) are billed through Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. All payments are processed in Indian Rupees (INR). We do not store your card, bank, or UPI details on our servers.

Subscriptions do not auto-renew. When your current plan period ends, your account automatically reverts to the Free plan unless you purchase a new plan. No cancellation is required.

Refunds: Due to the digital nature of the Service, plan payments are generally non-refundable once a plan is activated. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis for technical errors, duplicate charges, or failures where a charge was made but the plan was not activated. To request a refund, email [email protected] with your payment ID; we respond within 2 working days.

No refund is issued for the unused portion of a plan if you delete your account or downgrade before the plan period ends.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

• Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure password hashing
• Row-Level Security (RLS) on our database
• Server-side quota and access enforcement
• Regular security reviews

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We work continuously to maintain robust technical safeguards to protect your information.

9. Your Rights (Data Principal Rights)

Under the DPDP Act 2023, you have the right to:

• Access a summary of your personal information held by us
• Correct, complete, or update inaccurate information
• Request erasure of your account and personal data
• Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. disable location permissions)
• Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in event of incapacity
• Seek grievance redressal directly from our designated officer

To erase your account, use the in-app "Delete Account" option (Menu → Delete Account) or email [email protected] from your registered email address. Account deletion is subject to the 90-day recovery window described in Section 6.

10. Children's Privacy

Voltazip is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

11. Trademark & Intellectual Property

Voltazip™ is a trademark application held by Suresh Rao under Class 9 (Mobile Application Software), Class 35 (EV Charging Marketplace & Aggregation), and Class 42 (SaaS, Mapping & Navigation Software).

All app software architectures, source code, designs, and branding are protected under Indian Intellectual Property laws.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision. Where required by law, we will notify you of material changes through the app or via email.

Your continued use of Voltazip after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
